University of Trieste

The University of Trieste – UniTs, is located on the Italian eastern border, very close to Slovenia and Croatia. Trieste is also a well known crossroad town in directions North-South and East-West directions, especially from Mitteleuropean Countries (Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, etc) and Mediterranean ones. The University of Trieste is a complete university with 12 Faculties with strong dynamics in cultural, scientific and international terms. Trieste also hosts several International scientific Institutions very well linked with the University, in this way UniTs provides graduate and post-graduate students with a challenging and rewarding atmosphere.

Research covers areas ranging from science and technology to arts and social studies. UniTS is currently involved in several research programs at international level, many of which in collaboration with industry. The special interest displayed by international companies has lead to development of many patents registered by UniTs. Given its geo-political position, the University of Trieste carries on this tradition by promoting internationalization. Worldwide partnerships with about 120 universities testify the university`s global networking research activities. UniTS is involved in various EU programs aiming at enhancing a European dimension of education and the acknowledgement of professional skills. UniTs is very active in the LLP / ERASMUS program, which involves about 600 incoming and outgoing students per academic year through the approximately 330 bilateral agreements signed with EU universities. The University of Trieste acts as coordinator of the CEI (Central European Initiative) University Network.
