Thanks to its prestigious faculties the Universit? del Salento excels in different and articulate study opportunities offered both in the humanities as well as in the scientific field. Through the courses offered, combined with strong research programs, the university promotes an interdisciplinary approach, which helps students gain scientific knowledge in an autonomous way. Our extensive research program is focused on vital topics such as new economy, environmental recuperation, major mass phenomena, the evolution of political systems, energy-related issues, nanotechnologies as well as cultural heritage protection, developments in the social sciences and the new frontiers of education.
Among our well-established routes for knowledge transfer from the University are the knowledge and skills our students take with them when they graduate and move into employment and the publications arising from research. These are addressed in our first two core strategic goals: excellence in research and in knowledge transfer.
