The University of Jyvaskyla is a nationally and internationally significant research university that focuses on human and natural sciences. It is one of the largest and most popular multidisciplinary universities in Finland. The University is Finlands leading expert in education, teacher education, and adult education, as well as the largest exporter of education. It is also the only provider of sports and health sciences education in Finland. The seven faculties of the University host 15 000 students from all over Finland and from nearly 100 countries around the world. The University`s technology profile includes accelerator based technology, nano and paper manufacturing technology, ICT; wellness, sports and health technology; ICT in learning, and music technology. The University`s special national responsibilities have been organized into the following centres: the Accelerator Laboratory, the Kokkola University Consortium Chydenius, the Finnish Institute for Educational Research, the Finnish Centre for Lifelong Guidance Expertise, the Centre for Applied Language Studies, and the Sign Language Centre.
