Universidade Federal do Ceara
Founded in December of 1954, and established on June 25 of the following year, the Federal University of Ceara has become a leader in scientific research and outreach programs in the state of Ceara. Its faculty consists of 2,052 professors – 1,346 of them are PhD professors and 448 of them are MSc professors. Also, the staff is made up of 3,458 technical technique and administrative employees, which includes the Hospital Facilities staff. At its start, The Federal University of Ceara, administered by its founder and first President Antonio Martins Filho, consisted of the School of Agricultural Sciences, as well as of the School of Medicine, Pharmacy, Odontology and the School of Law. Currently, the Federal University of Ceara has expanded to almost ali areas of knowledge and conducts many of its activities not only in Fortaleza, the capital city of Ceara, but also in other municipalities statewide. Today, the Federal University of Ceara stands as an important scientific and cultural patrimony of the people from Ceara, helping to promote social and economic development in Brazil.
