Mustafa Rahmi Koc
Rahmi Mustafa Koç is a Turkish businessman. In 2016, Forbes ranked him No. 906 richest person in the world with a net worth of $2.6 billion. In 2013, he is the Turkish person who paid the most income taxes in his country, totalling 37.5 million liras.
Mustafa Rahmi Koc is honorary chairman of Koc Holding, a conglomerate whose main sectors are energy, automotive, durable consumer goods and finance.
Other activities include technology, food, retail, tourism, agriculture and shipbuilding. Koc Group has 14 companies traded on the Borsa İstanbul.
In 2003, after running the group’s main public company, Koc Holding, for 19 years, Rahmi Koc handed the chairmanship to his eldest son, Mustafa Koc.
After Mustafa Koc had a fatal heart attack in 2016, at age 56, Rahmi’s other son, Omer, took over.
Rahmi is the second generation of the family to have presided over Koc Group. Sisters Semahat Arsel and Suna Kirac are also billionaires.
