Mitchell Rales

Mitchell Rales is an American billionaire businessman, and a collector of modern and contemporary art. He co-founded Danaher Corporation in 1983 and is the chairman of its executive committee. Rales is one of the Washington, D.C. region’s eleven billionaires.

  • Mitchell Rales and his brother Steven acquired a real estate investment trust in 1983 and merged it into the firm Danaher.
  • Over the years they acquired more than three dozen companies and turned Danaher into an industrial firm with $20 billion in revenues.
