Irkutsk State University
Irkutsk State University is a large scientific and educational institution training students in humanities, social, physical and life sciences. ISU facilities include educational institutions, faculties, research centers, modern laboratories and the scientific library that is one of the largest University libraries in Russia. ISU offers bachelor, master, post-graduate programs for more than 13000 students that have opportunity to specialize under the supervision of world-known scientists. Senior students of all the faculties have specialized courses and internship in laboratories and scientific research institutions of ISU and Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The University faculties and institutions are located in 9 educational buildings. The majority of these buildings are of great historical and architectural value. Irkutsk State University conducts research projects that among other things contribute to Baikal Siberia`s potential development and innovative economy advance. ISU is famous for its fundamental research in different spheres including environmental management. International cooperation is seen as one of ISU’s priorities: at present, Irkutsk State University has over 70 agreements on cooperation with foreign partners and conducts joint educational and double-degree programs both with European and Asian Universities.
