Yuan Ze University

Yuan Ze University, established in 1989 through a private endowment fund given by Mr. Yu-Ziang Hsu, the founder of the FarEastern Group, is one of the fastest growing universities in Taiwan. After two remarkable decades since its inception, YZU has become a first-choice private university for students and also an internationally recognized institution with great efforts to foster excellence in scholarship and teaching, engage and enrich the community, and improve lives through research and discovery. Designated by the Ministry of Education in 2006 as one of 12 first-tier research universities in Taiwan. YZU has embarked on a strategic plan that will ensure the university continuing to inspire excellence in research, teaching, and community services in the decades ahead. As a major intellectual and cultural focal point, the beautiful YZU campus is located at the center of a high-tech corridor in Northwestern Taiwan, approximately 30 km south of the capital city, Taipei, and 12 km east of Taoyuan International Airport. On campus, there are over 440 faculty and academic staff and 8,800 students from every corner in Taiwan and various foreign countries. One third of the students are in graduate programs. The student and faculties are affiliated with five different colleges: Humanities and Social Sciences, Informatics, Management, Engineering, and Electrical and Communication Engineering.

Yuan Ze University strives to become the first bilingual university in Taiwan; and to foster excellence in scholarship and teaching, engage and enrich the community, and improve lives through research and discovery.
