Patokh Chodiev

Patokh Chodiev, is a Belgian-Uzbek oligarch who with Alexander Mashkevich and Alijan Ibragimov, is part of the “Trio,” a group of Central Asian businessmen who made their fortune through deals in minerals, oil, gas, and banking in Kazakhstan. Chodiev is currently ranked #275 on the Forbes list of billionaires.

Eurasian Resources Group (ERG), of which Patokh Chodiev is part owner, got its start investing natural resources in Kazakhstan in the mid-1990s.

With partners Alexander Machkevich and Alijan Ibragimov (both billionaires), he took Eurasian Natural Resources Corp. (ENRC) public in London in 2007.

They delisted ENRC in 2013, after its stock price deflated amid a market downturn, stalled growth and investigative inquiries.

Today, ERG is a diversified natural resources group with production assets and development projects in 14 countries across four continents.

Its activities range from mining and smelting to energy production, logistics and financial services (Kazakhstan’s Eurasian Bank is a subsidiary).
