Palacky University of Olomouc
Palacky University, founded in 1573, is the second oldest University in the Czech Republic. Thanks to its tradition and today?s performance it occupies significant place in Czech and Central European education, culture and research. The University comprises eight faculties, specialized research centres and institutes. With almost 22 000 students the University provides quality education in many academic disciplines.
It offers more than 250 accredited Bachelor`s, Master`s and Doctoral study programmes, including courses and study programmes in foreign languages as well as joint degrees in cooperation with other international universities. In addition, the University is experienced in offering various lifelong learning programmes, e. g. `university` for aged people and children. Palacky University is a modern research university. Recently, several significant University international research centres have been established thanks to the important investment projects, which allow to do research in the edge of science. The research work covers different fields from medicine, natural sciences to humanities. The University alumni are competitive in the labor market at a regional, national as well as international level. Palacky University participates in many international programmes and projects of cooperation and research. It has about 300 partner institutions in 28 European countries and more than 60 bilateral cooperation agreements around the world.
