Hallym University

Hallym University is a private university located in Chuncheon, Gangwon, Republic of Korea. Hallym University was established in 1982. In 1995 it was designated by the Ministry of Education as one of a handful of universities entitled to receive the financial support of the Ministry for their specialization programs. After that, it continued to be so designated consecutively for five years. In addition, it has acquired the status of “distinguished university, “ the title granted by the Ministry of Education, three years in a row, and has also been selected for funding by the Brain Korea 21 Project.

Hallym University was founded with the ideal of cultivating students of rich character and creative thinking, and of advancing academic and cultural promotion. For this purpose, the University set the following three objectives as its founding educational mission: First, to enable students to develop a broad cultural perspective, good judgment, moral ethics, and physical vitality. Second, to foster a positive attitude in our students as they address a changing world, in order to promote research and education in close cooperation with other research institutions at home and abroad. Third, to endeavor to produce students who will contribute to their own individual development, national prosperity, and, ultimately, to the welfare of the human race.
