Steven Udvar-Hazy

Steven Ferencz Udvar-Házy, also known as István or Steve Hazy, is an American billionaire businessman, and the CEO of Air Lease Corporation. He is the former chairman and CEO of International Lease Finance Corporation, one of the two largest aircraft lessors in the world.

  • Steven Udvar-Hazy, who immigrated to New York from Hungary as a child, is credited with creating the airplane leasing industry.
  • He started his own airline in his 20s, but realized there was easier money to be made in buying planes and leasing them to airlines.
