Lanxess Aktiengesellschaft is a German specialty chemicals company based in Cologne, Germany that was founded in 2004 via the spin-off of the chemicals division and parts of the polymers business from Bayer AG.
LANXESS AG engages in the development, manufacturing and marketing of plastics, rubber, intermediates and specialty chemicals. It operates through the following segments: Performance Polymers, Advanced Intermediates and Performance Chemicals. The Performance Polymers segment offers polymer activities and comprises the butyl rubber, performance butadiene rubbers, technical rubber products and semi-crystalline products business units.
