Bill Malloy

As a founding general partner at Sway Ventures, Bill Malloy III is one of the key investors responsible for directing the firm’s investment activities. Sway Ventures’ portfolio includes Zanbato, Noon Home, Le Tote, EVRYTHNG, Addepar, and dozens of other brands. The firm targets companies with high performing teams and revolutionary technologies that are creating new enterprise and consumer categories. Malloy maintains board positions with several of these portfolio companies, focusing on strategy, new product development, and operations. He also works to build the investment ecosystem between the US and Europe. Concurrently, he is president of Malloy and Company, a single family office with investments in private equity, securities, and real estate.

Before co-founding Sway Ventures, Malloy explored high-risk, high-reward investments at DFJ-Zone Ventures in his early career. He worked with entrepreneurs and founders to provide guidance on strategy as well as financial structuring and operational issues. Additionally, he identified new investment targets in Silicon Valley and Southern California.

Malloy is also involved in philanthropy as a trustee of the Malloy Family Foundation and a co-founder of the PEERS Network. The Malloy Family Foundation is dedicated to enriching the lives of children by supporting education and related causes. Based in San Diego, the PEERS Network connects local community leaders, executives, and entrepreneurs with the goal of giving back. The PEERS Network also serves as a space for aspiring philanthropists to gain valuable insight and experience in charitable giving and social entrepreneurship. Previously, Malloy served as treasurer and a board member of the Equinox Center.

Malloy holds an MBA with a focus on finance and entrepreneurship from the Marshall School of Business at USC. His extracurricular activities at the university included the Private Equity Network, American Finance Association, and the Entrepreneur and Venture Management Association. He also holds a BS in chemical engineering from Clemson University.
