Alexander Machkevich
Alexander Antonovich Mashkevich is a businessman and investor. He has major holdings and close political relationships in Kazakhstan.
- Eurasian Resources Group (ERG), of which Alexander Machkevich is part owner, got its start investing natural resources in Kazakhstan in the mid-1990s.
- With partners Patokh Chodiev and Alijan Ibragimov (both billionaires), he took Eurasian Natural Resources Corp. (ENRC) public in London in 2007.
- They delisted ENRC in 2013, after its stock price deflated amid a market downturn, stalled growth and investigative inquiries.
- Today, ERG is a diversified natural resources group with production assets and development projects in 14 countries across four continents.
- Its activities range from mining and smelting to energy production, logistics and financial services (Kazakhstan’s Eurasian Bank is a subsidiary).
