Tianjin University

Tianjin University, established in 1895 with the name of Peiyang University, is the first university in China. It is one of the National Key Universities directly under the administration of Ministry of Education. The University is among the first batch of key institutions under the national projects of 211 and 985. There are 26,000 full-time students, and over 4327 faculty and staff, among whom 13 are academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering. Research activities are rigorous in all schools and departments, including 4 National Key Laboratories and 2 National Engineering Research Centers. Internationalization has been the strategic direction of development, and the University has signed Copperation agreements with 122 institutions from over 30 different nations and regions. Over the past 116 years, Tianjin University has cultivated over 200,000 talents, and the employment rate upon graduation has always been leading in the country.
