South China University of Technology (SCUT) is located in Guangzhou, a city of the starting point of the ancient Maritime Silk Road and the pioneer of China’s reform and opening up. SCUT is a national key university directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education of P. R. China. SCUT covers an area of over 294 hectares with two campuses, i.e. the Wushan Campus in Tianhe District and the Higher education mega center Campus in Panyu District. The picturesque environment and profound tradition has made SCUT an ideal place for learning and research. Since its founding in 1952, SCUT has always aimed at building a first-class university and has been ranked among the best in the fields of electronics, architecture, materialogy, chemical engineering, etc. After 60 years of development, SCUT has successfully molded itself into a comprehensive, research-oriented, international university, with its focus on engineering and developing an integrated education platform in science, management, economics, humanities, law and arts. In recent years, the demand of graduate students has exceeded their supply. The employment rate of its undergraduates in 2012 has reached 99.10% and that of its graduates 99.10%. Over the past 60 years, it has cultivated for the country over 270,000 students, many of whom have become leaders and pioneers in academic and industrial sectors and government agencies.
