North-Eastern Federal University is one of leading Russian universities and is located in Yakutsk. Yakutsk is known worldwide as the diamond capital, the territory of the Pole of Cold and permafrost. NEFU is the institution friendly to students. Our university space, filled with love and respect, trust and patience, optimism and goodwill. The University covers the scientific and educational activities over a quarter of the territory of Russia, studying here more than 20 thousand undergraduate and graduate students from 30 foreign countries. There are 13 institutes, 6 faculties, 3 University branches in Mirny, Nerungry and Chukotka, 6 major research institutes. The University occupies 40 buildings and 12 residence halls located mostly in the University campus. The accessible and convivial dimension of the campus makes students feel at home; international students are well integrated as it is easy to contact faculty, administration and other students. There are student canteens almost everywhere throughout the campus that propose different meals at an affordable price. There are 1 500,000 books, periodicals and other items in the University Library.

The new Federal University’s mission is to improve the quality of professional education throughout the Northeast region of the Russian Federation. Effective improvement in information technologies and IT infrastructure in order to meet new targets and objectives is a critical component of the Federal University’s development program.
