China Medical University (Taiwan)

China Medical University (CMU) was established as China Medical College on June 6th, 1958 and became China Medical University in 2003. It was the first government-approved academic institution in Taiwan to provide degree programs in Chinese medicine and pharmacy. The university has steadily grown and developed into one of the most prestige medical universities in Taiwan. Located in the center of Taichung City, the main campus of CMU includes 7 colleges in which western medicine, Chinese medicine, pharmacy (including Chinese herbs), health care (including nursing), life sciences, public health, and management related educational, research and practice programs are undertaken and offered. Interdisciplinary courses are also available for students who desire to expand and integrate their learning experiences. With CMU’s top-ranked laboratories, established library and reference center, two comprehensive teaching hospitals, and a committed staff, our university is clearly following an overall strategy in our approach to medical education in a caring, nurturing and well-equipped environment.
