Boliden
Boliden AB is a Swedish mining and smelting company focusing on production of copper, zinc, lead, gold and silver. Following a series of acquisitions during the 1980s and 1990s the company acquired mining and smelting assets of the Finnish mining and smelting company Outokumpu in 2003.
Boliden AB operates as a metals company, which is engaged in metal mining, exploration, smelting, and recycling of metals with main focus on zinc, copper and precious metal-bearing ores. It operates mines and smelters in Sweden, Finland, Norway and Ireland. The company operates two segments Smelters and Mines. The Smelters segment produces electronic scrap, metal scrap, metal ashes and scrap car batteries, to produce both pure metals and customized alloys. The Mines segment develop and produces metals and minerals, it is also involved in the sales of the mined concentrates. Boliden was founded in February 1931 and is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden.
