Waseda University

Located in central Tokyo, Waseda University is a comprehensive research and teaching institution, with over 50,000 students of 100 nationalities. Waseda was founded in 1882 by Shigenobu Okuma, a leader of Japans modern revolution and later prime minister, based on three guiding principles: independence of academia, practical application of knowledge, and the shaping of engaged citizens.
