As a capital city university, Victoria has strong links with government departments, international agencies, industries, regional and local government, iwi and environmental organisations, and some of New Zealands major research institutes. Victoria has collaborative and student exchange links with renowned universities throughout the Pacific, Asia, North and South America, and Europe. Victoria is characterised by the depth, consistency and effectiveness of our culture of domestic and international engagement. We aim to produce graduates whose learning has been developed inside and outside of the classroom and informed by a global perspective. Founded in 1897, Victoria is one of New Zealands oldest and most prestigious tertiary institutions with 9 faculties, 7 of which conduct teaching and research: Architecture and Design, Education, Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Law, Science and Victoria Business School all of which include research centres and institutes.
