Nevaldo Rocha

Nevaldo Rocha is the architect behind Riachuelo, one of Brazil’s largest retailers.In 1947, Rocha opened a clothing store with his brother Newton in the northeastern Brazilian city of Natal.His Grupo Guararapes bought the Riachuelo brand in 1979, which has since become the centerpiece of the business.Under Rocha’s direction, Grupo Guararapes transformed from a clothing manufacturer to a fashion designer, producer and distributor.In August 2018, Rocha resigned as president of the board. His children still work at the company.
