Kumamoto University is one of Japan’s oldest and most prestigious national universities. Kumamoto is located in the center of Kyushu the-third-largest island of Japan and most southwesterly of its four main islands. The University is home to world-class research in wide-ranged fields, including the research into ancient documents, development of next-generation magnesium alloys, pulse power science, AIDS research, and regenerative medicine.
