Henry Nicholas III

Henry Thompson “Nick” Nicholas III is the co-founder, and former co-chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer of Broadcom Corporation, a Fortune 500 company. He is also a philanthropist and leader of the victim’s rights movement.

Henry Nicholas III and business partner Henry Samueli cofounded fabless semiconductor firm Broadcom in 1991 in a Redondo Beach, Calif. condominium.
In February 2016 Broadcom was acquired by Singapore-based chip firm Avago for $37 billion in cash and stock and renamed Broadcom Ltd.
Nicholas retired from Broadcom in 2003 but has held onto a nearly 3% stake in the company.
He’s now focused on philanthropy and passing crime victims’ rights bill known as Marsy’s Law, which is now law in 12 states.
In February 2019, Nicholas was charged with 5 counts of drug trafficking after police found heroin and methamphetamine in his Las Vegas hotel room in August.
In September 2019, he took a plea deal in his drug trafficking case. He’ll attend drug counseling and donate $500,000 to area treatment centers.
