Chen Dongsheng
Chen Dongsheng, male, Han nationality, is a native of Hubei province. He was born in 1957, and established the Taikang Life Insurance Company in 1996 in Beijing. Taikang is a nationwide, professional and state owned share holding Life Insurance Company.
- Chen Dongsheng is the founder and chairman of Taikang Life Insurance, one of China’s largest insurers.
- Chen’s wife is the granddaughter of Mao Zedong, the communist revolutionary who became the founding father of the People’s Republic of China.
- Chen is a member of the board of directors of Xiaomi, one of the world’s most popular smartphone brands.
- Chen holds an undergraduate degree in political science and PhD in economics from Wuhan University.
- Early in his career, Chen worked as deputy editor of Management World, a publication of the Development Research Center of China’s State Council.
