Agnete Kirk Thinggaard

Agnete Kirk Thinggaard is a Danish Olympic dressage rider. Representing Denmark, she competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro where she finished 26th in the individual and 6th in the team competition.

  • A fourth-generation owner of Lego, Agnete Kirk Thinggaard splits ownership of a 75% stake in the toy company with her father, sister and brother.
  • Thinggaard is also a member of the board of the Lego Foundation.
  • Her great-grandfather Ole, a carpenter, started making wooden toys in his workshop in 1932 before moving into plastic in the 1940s.
  • Through the family holding company she also has stakes in Merlin Entertainment, owner of Madame Tussauds, and real estate and wind farm investments.
  • Thinggaard represented Denmark in dressage at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016; she placed 26th in individual competition.
