Zhang Shiping

Zhang Shiping was a Chinese businessman. He oversaw the rise of China Hongqiao Group into the world’s biggest aluminum producer and was dubbed China’s “Aluminum King”. On May 23, 2019, Zhang died of an unspecified illuness according to the official announcement of his hometown Zouping county in Shandong province.

  • Zhang Shiping chairs Hong Kong-listed China Hongqiao Group, one of the world’s largest makers of aluminum products.
  • Zhang’s wife Zheng Shuliang is vice chairman of China Hongqiao Group.
  • Zhang also controls Weiqiao Textile, a Hong Kong-listed cotton company run by his daughter, Zhang Hongxia.
  • Another daughter, Zhang Yanghong, sits on the boards of China Hongqiao Group and Weiqiao. Son Zhang Bo is also on the board of Hongqiao.
