The Autonomous University of the State of Mexico is compromised by a mission that goes back to its origins and that is renewed in the essential thing, without being unworthy of its historical traditions. Attending to its validity, it always evolves and it transforms as the knowledge and the societies return the futures in present times. From its foundation, it generates, studies, preserves, transmits and extends the universal knowledge, being in all time and circumstance to the service of the society. It embraces the commitment to form ethical persons, involved proactivamente in the construction of the peace, the defense of and better forms of existence and human coexistence, which promote the development sustentable, the same as a universal, humanist, national, free, just and democratic conscience. In our order of giving top and top average education, there are vital the humanistic, scientific and technological investigation, the cultural diffusion and extension actions associated with the advances of the humanism, of the science and the technology, of the art and of any declaration of the culture, which according to the current ethical and moral crisis in the encompassed world will turn out to be enriched with the impulse of the knowledge with values and the social responsibility, essential beginning in the chore of our institution and the university community.
The accomplished practice of participative planning has allowed us to jointly draw the image of the future that establishes how we want our university to be, contrasting what we are, what we will do and what we want to do; thus, in accordance with its mission, principals and values. The UAEM has a dynamic, relevant, innovating and comprehensive educational model, with focus on the student and the disciplinary, pedagogical and technological professionalization of the faculty council with classroom and distance studies modalities: promoting continuing education for professional certification and supported by the use of information and communication technologies (TIC), team work and the proficiency in a second language; and their educational programs (PEs) enable the mobility of students and teachers. The UAEM prepares high school graduates, undergraduates, professionals and graduates that are competent in national and international fields, with critical and constructive abilities, humanistic sense and ethical values. Faculty members are highly qualified in their field of study, in didactics and technological resources, which results in the strengthening of knowledge, aptitudes and attitudes. Full-time professors (PTC) hold a masters degree or its equivalent and preferably a doctorate degree. They have a recognized academic profile and are organized in academic bodies (CAs). Most of the academic bodies are consolidated or in the process of consolidating and they all develop research areas important for society, with quality scientific production, acknowledged on national and international level. Management is sensible, inclusive, efficient, transparent and effective, supported in a comprehensive system of institutional information through the administrative and academic processes that are certified according to international quality standards.
