The University of Limerick (UL) is an independent, internationally focussed university with over 12,000 students and 1,300 staff and has a proud record of innovation in education and excellence in research and scholarship. Its mission is to be distinctive, pioneering and connected and to shape the future through empowering people to meet the real challenges of tomorrow. Programmes are available to postdoctoral levels in the disciplines of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Business, Education and Health Sciences, Science and Engineering. Interacting with over 1,500 employer organisations worldwide through its Copperative Education programme and its research collaborations, UL has generated many spin-out companies and helped to establish the neighbouring National Technology Park, Ireland’s first science park, with some 80 enterprises employing over 4,000 people. Campus development began in 1972 and now embraces a superb riverside campus of over 133 hectares with the River Shannon as a unifying focal point.
