Tver State Technical University

Tver State Technical University (TvSTU, or Tv.G.T.OO. in Russian) was established in 1922. In 1994 Kalinin Polytechnic Institute (former NAME of Tver) was awarded a university status. Currently the university includes eight faculties. TvSTU has 48 departments with their staff over 400 professors and lecturers. Foreign students are educated by Faculty of International Academic Cooperation. Guests from over 40 countries of the whole world study there. TvSTU is a regional research leader in nanosystems, energy conservation, housing construction, automation, information technologies, peat technologies, machine-building, chemical and biological technologies, etc. TvSTU students enjoy their opportunities to improve their knowledge in different sciences and technologies, do research, they grow creatively and physically. In 2014-2016, TvSTU Student-Associations Development Program won in the contest organized by the Russian Federation Ministry of Education and Science. TvSTU is one of 100 best Russian universities chosen by both the All-Russian conference Problems and Prospects of the Development of Higher Education and Science in the Russian Federation and European Scientific and Industrial Chamber (ARES-2016). For 55 years of its work, the university has educated over 72 thousand specialists and researchers – which is a serious contribution to the social and economic development of Tver Region and the whole Russia.

Tver State Technical University is supporting regional research and educational center for the training of competent engineering personnel and the implementation of research based on the best tradition of unity, fundamental, innovation, cooperation with research organizations for the reproduction of intellectual potential, economic modernization and technological development of the region and the country.
