  • The bulk of Frits Goldschmeding‘s fortune comes from his 32% stake in staffing company Randstad Holding, with branches in 39 countries.
  • The company paid more than $400 million in 2016 to acquire job hunting site Monster.com.
  • Goldschmeding founded the business in 1960, calling it Uitzendbureau Amstelveen; he changed the name to Randstad four years later.
  • He took the company public in 1990, then retired in 1998; he no longer has a management role at the company.
