China Mobile is the trade name of both China Mobile Limited and its ultimate controlling shareholder, China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd., a Chinese state-owned company.

China Mobile Ltd. operates as an investment holding company, which through its subsidiaries offers mobile services using the global system for mobile communications, or GSM, standard. It intend to use GSM network to primarily carry voice usage and certain data traffic from mobile phones. The company offers mobile services using the TD-SCDMA standard, operates 3G business based on an Internet Protocol based core network that is shared by its 2G, 3G and 4G services as well as the TD-SCDMA network capacity. China Mobile was founded on September 3, 1997 and is headquartered in Hong Kong.
