STMicroelectronics is a French-Italian multinational electronics and semiconductor manufacturer headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. It is commonly called ST, and it is Europe’s largest semiconductor chip maker based on revenue.

STMicroelectronics NV designs, develops, manufactures and markets a broad range of semiconductor integrated circuits and discrete devices. It develops products for a wide range of market applications, including automotive products, computer peripherals, telecommunications systems, consumer products, industrial automation and control systems. The company operates through two segments: Semiconductors and Subsystems. The Semiconductors segment designs, develops, manufactures and markets a broad range of products, including discrete and standard commodity components, application-specific integrated circuits, full custom devices and semi-custom devices and application-specific standard products for analog, digital, and mixed-signal applications. The Subsystems segment designs, develops, manufactures and markets subsystems and modules for the telecommunications, automotive and industrial markets including mobile phone accessories, battery chargers, ISDN power supplies and in-vehicle equipment for electronic toll payment. STMicroelectronics was founded in June 1987 and is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.
